This page was tough to draw.

Nice effect with the water in the last panel. Looks really cool.

BTW... What is panel 4? All I can make out is part of a strap and a blob of fabric. Seems incomplete...

Aww, I guess I didn't draw it so well.

Maybe "zoom out" so some neck and maybe chin, shoulder blade, and possibly elbow are in frame?
Guest (Guest) edit delete reply
It's her shoulder flexing. She stronk.
Jojo42 (Guest) edit delete reply
Did you adjust the photo View? Added a bit more muscle look to the surface? (Either that or reading other people's comments makes it more like flexing muscle.) I do get the idea now. But I do think reducing the scale 20-50% would allow including enough visual context to make this work better. (My $0.02)

Add some lens flares, that'll fix it.
view edit delete reply

No, the only change I made after uploading was to refine the waterline in the last panel.

Lens flares will fix anything!

And some buzzwords.

Shoulder strap, triceps. Come on, clear as day.

View, are you ABSOLUTELY sure Sean isn't from Krypton? XD :D

Sure hope she didn't put a hole in the boat after bodyslamming the perp on the deck on his head! ^^!

Thanks for the link, Bellar! :D

Sean is strong enough to bend steel with her fist and Leio thought he was intimidating?? No wonder Alis is so calm.

That nails it, Sean's an android...

Oddly enough, this was my theory *until* this page.
Sheela edit delete reply
Sheela
I'm thinking more along the line of bio engineered children.

Designer children as it were.
Super soldier programs.
...(RockB) edit delete reply
...(RockB)
Why until this page? Because of her muscles?

I'd say, too, that this nails it. Even under the condition that the rod and maybe the railing are plastic, one wouldn't build a boat so fragile that a strong human could crush a rod with a tight grip, merely by accident. And she YANKED Leio back into the boat as if he weighted no more than a baby.

If she doesn't have a fully robotic body (maybe it's a very sophisticated, human-like body, idk), then at least... no, having super-strong muscles isn't enough, the body would also need a super-durability for such a manoeuver. IMHO this really nails it: Sean is not human.
Sheela edit delete reply
Sheela
Super Human, maybe ... like what you'd get out of a super soldier program.

I feel fairly confident that she's biological, but that also means all sorts of mutations could still be possible.
Tsuris (Guest) edit delete reply
those shoulder muscles and that butt shot

Alis is just enjoying the show at this point look at her just sitting down in the corner of the boat
Bellar edit delete reply
Bellar
Alis is coming to terms with her own mortality while high as a kite at this point. I feel like her thoughts might be along the lines of:

"Whoa. I might die. I wish we had pizza."
Sheela edit delete reply
Sheela
Munchies!
...(RockB) edit delete reply
...(RockB)
My impression was not that Alis needs the patches to survive but to lead a normal life. She can't run or swim without them, but if she avoids anything mildly exhausting, she might be ok.
Greeb edit delete reply
Greeb
Oh dear, I think she broke him.
Dragonrider edit delete reply
Dragonrider
Don't know if she broke him, but she broke the railing landing her fish. If he's broke, Se La Vie. if you gonna play with the big kittys you gonna get scratched up and bruised.
Lyon edit delete reply
Lyon
Justice time! This twist just gets better and better. The character development in the last few pages alone is brilliant! I'm still a bit worried for Alis, since all her patches are washed away and this one was just peeled off. I guess that was the tipping point for Sean. What was this guy thinking?
Zombie Pancake edit delete reply
I don't think Alis is really in danger. If he was planning to swim anywhere, I'd think he has some patches in his bag.
Mark (Guest) edit delete reply
Please let this be true, Alis is a great character.
Miao edit delete reply
Miao
I'd be worried that her medical patches aren't exactly like the swimming patches.
Zombie Pancake edit delete reply
All the way back on page 46, Cara says the swimming patches are basically a more advanced version of Alis' medical patches
view edit delete reply

Just a different set of secondary elements, not more advanced.

O_o

Her grip crushed the roof support tube and she pulled him so hard that the railing bent from the force of it. Just damn!
Guest (Guest) edit delete reply
I love this page! The effect of Sean just fucking destroying this guy, the force of it listing the boat and probably caving in his skull. Most importantly though the detail in Sean's shoulder and the plot twist on top of it: delicious!

Yeah, I normally presume a guestguest is just a login problem. :)
Malcadon edit delete reply
Malcadon
DAMN!! What has Sean been putting in her patches?!?
ArcaneThesis (Guest) edit delete reply
My question as well. She's crushing the metal frame of the boat there in panel three as she grabs him.

That's not normal, baseline bodybuilders can't do that.
view edit delete reply
view
Why do you think it's metal?
Malcadon edit delete reply
Malcadon
That's (heavy) metal alright! B)
Sheela edit delete reply
Sheela
Frankly, it would be more difficult to crush if it was polymer.
Metal crushes and stays bendt, plastics are more spongelike.

I think ... maybe .. I'm just a doggy on the internet!
view edit delete reply
view
Plastic has a lot of variation, that's what makes it so useful. The boat is 3D-printed, and the strut is basically a flattened tube made of the stuff action figures are made of.

... Although I didn't think it was important enough to put in the story.
RandomTroll (Guest) edit delete reply
So, is it something like nylon reinforced thermosetting polymer?
view edit delete reply
view
Yeah, more in common with a plastic car bumper than anything else.
Ethereal (Guest) edit delete reply
Aren't there four people on the boat?
view edit delete reply
view
One of them is hidden in the bow. I couldn't draw her in with all the whammie lines.
Guest (Guest) edit delete reply
I count 3 and the 4th is probably hidden behind the water in the last panel.
elfolampo edit delete reply
elfolampo
I, uh, think Sean might have killed a man. Also I hope the boat's floor isn't as bendy as its rails.
