It's surprisingly hard to show "lots of grip strength".

Oh dear, beard man is in trouble.

Beard dude, what the hell man? Not cool. Hopefully the incoming broken wrist/fingers will be a beneficial lesson in respecting other people's personal space.

I'm now thinking of a Carl Hiaasen story where another grabby jerk ends up getting his hand stuffed into a box of live stone crabs. Oo

RE: grip strength.... what about showing his hand going numb?

I can't show that kind of thing in this comic due to the artistic constraints.

You could go for a .GIF and just show a quick image flash of snapped bones overlaid on the normal panel. As long as you don't intend to print, mixed media is probably the strongest aspect of webcomics.

tsk tsk...if he only knew she can crush walnuts...lucky for him she didn't crush his uh...walnuts :-)

Easier to grab his forearm and squeeze. There are also sufficient pressure points if you don't want to break any bones. The genitals would be a harder reach.

If this were on dry land, a knee to the groin would be more likely.

It's incredible what a wetsuit can shield. The wrist is a high nerve-center and is perfect for.. dissuasion.

Years of jujitsu and aikido have told me this...

Awww I wish there was way to support your art. Also I think Tshirts with your characters on them would be cool.

This clip is either PAL (4% faster speed/pitch increase) or was 'tweaked' by the uploader to foil YouTube's 'copyright bot' so the clip wouldn't be taken down.

Yusss. YUSSSS. Beard guy shall pay. *rubs palms together*

I'm sorry, I get way too invested in fiction lol. Probably a side effect of having babies *cough* I mean characters of my own.

Anyway, liking the way the veins in their hands are showing through.

She twisted his wrist around more than the normal stopping point it seems.

Hmm I'm curious as to who this guy is. Sean said "Doesn't the beard guy seem familiar?" On an earlier page. Hope he isn't a criminal of some sort hiding out in the underwater bunker. :x Maybe just a scientist with some sort of scandal behind him? Knowing View there is some reason for it to be mentioned. Either way, hope Sean breaks his fingers. <3

There is a way to show strong grip. Gripping someone's wrist with strength, palm against the back of the hand, produces a slight tilt of the gripped hand backwards and toward the thumb side, inward (toward the left for the right hand palm down). The hands flush quickly and the gripped hand's pinky and ring fingers curl under the pressure of the gripping thumb.
With the gripping hand's palm against the underside of the gripped wrist as you are depicting, the key is in demonstrating the rotation exerted against the hand being gripped. You rotate the gripping hand toward the inside of the wrist (cock the hand like a goose neck) and, with the gripped hand's fingers curled so the nails are visible, rotate the wrist so the thumb is rotated down and the pinky up with the arm rotated slightly less.
JustSomeGuy (Guest) edit delete reply
I was also going to suggest some rotation, or pressure lines on the skin, similar to the flesh fold lines you've previously used, View. The images are still excellent as always.
The Saprophyte (Guest) edit delete reply
Color change maybe, either to red or blue. The cliche standard little lightning bolts would've been the easiest way to do it, but I imagine you're above that.

Re: Grip strength

Have the non-gripping hand's skin fold on itself in a few spots.

Alternatively/in addition to, have two frames: one with a normal grip, and one with an increased grip. The constriction of the gripper's hand should be apparent there.
